All classes at Beechmont school have a camp every year. This might take the form of a sleepover for the younger grades or a camp at an outside site for the older classes.
Every four years the children in years 4 to 7 are given the opportunity to attend a camp in Canberra. This is an expensive camp, around the $900 mark, but is certainly a wonderful week for the children.
All classes have excursions as well to complement the work being undertaken in the classroom.
The senior class in the school, whether it be a year 7 class or a 6/7 class take part in two special excursions every year. Around ANZAC Day, the class travels to Brisbane to take part in the student ANZAC service held in ANZAC Square. This is a free day for the children as train travel to Brisbane is provided free by Trans link.
The 2nd excursion that this class gets to take part in is the student day as part of the Gold Coast 600 V8 Supercar series. This a fun day full of learning and laughter.
