At Beechmont State School we follow the Australian National Curriculum which currently includes English, Mathematics, Science and History. Art, Health and Physical Education, classroom Music and SOSE are also part of our extensive curriculum. We are using the Curriculum to the Classroom (C2C) units of work.
The Language Other Than English (LOTE) that is taught is Japanese. Japanese is taught to every class from Prep through to Year 6. Children learn to speak as well as write Japanese.
We have classroom Music, Physical Education and Japanese teachers who take each class for 45 minutes each week in their specialised subject area. Currently, children in early years are also participating in a gross motor program.
A varied sporting program is conducted by the classroom teachers each Friday. There is a year long sporting program that includes the sport your child will be participating in during the year.
Our Learning support and Special Education staff, work closely with the class teachers to provide a range of programs to assist students with learning difficulties.
